Newly Ordained Bishop of Damongo Greets Parishioners.
March 25, 2011 bishop elect, Peter Paul Yelezuome Angkyier was ordained bishop and installed as the second bishop of Damongo Diocese. With arms opened Bishop Angkyier welcomes all to the work of evangelization in the diocese.
The Meaning of the Coat of Arms.
The Bible symbolizes the Word of God, the tree, the Kingdom of God, the lion symbolizes the strong in relation to the weak, vulnerable, gentle, innocent and the humble, symbolized by the lamb. The lion also points to fortitude, courage, steadfastness and perseverance required for leadership. The bird symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The sketch portrays the Will of God to create one human family out of the diversity of people. Promoting peace, unity, and harmony among all peoples through the Mission of the Church is indeed, fulfilling the Will of God.
